Following the good example of a typical New Zealander (so I’m told) I decided to completely ignore the rain this morning. You see in New Zealand there is no bad weather, it never gets cold and doesn’t rain.
When I arrived at work, a whole 10 minutes walk from my apartment, I discovered that the Kiwis are right. Even though it appeared to be raining outside I was still dry!
Unfortunately, having arrived back home after a days work, I can tell you that it does rain in Auckland.
It is just that at times, like this morning, the rain isn’t very heavy. It was more like a haze or a dribble whereas in the afternoon the rain really came down on me.
After leapfrogging from one bit of overhead cover to another and still getting soaked I jumped into the first shop that sold something resembling umbrellas.
$29.90 later me and my new best friend ‘Umbry’ walked the streets of Auckland.
Time to get changed: dinner in Devonport tonight!
